LAKE REALITY BEACH RULES
1) LIFEGUARDS & SWIMMING
- Lifeguard on duty when scheduled unless the sign “NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY” is posted.
- No swimming when lifeguards are not present.
- Lifeguard hours:
a) Friday–Sunday: 12:00 PM–7:30 PM
b) Weekdays: 12:00 PM–7:00 PM (When school ends)
- At 7:00 PM the facilities will be locked. Do not ask lifeguards to leave doors open.
2) PARENT / MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY
- Members and guests are responsible at all times for the safety and supervision of their children.
3) INFLATABLES / FLOATATION DEVICES
- Inflatables (swimmies, inflatable arm bands) only in shallow water buoy markers.
- Life jackets, noodles, and kickboards allowed on floating docks.
- Children must pass the Dock Test before using life jackets, noodles, or kickboards on floating docks.
- No kayaks or boats inside the roped swimming area around the floating docks.
4) ROPED SWIMMING AREA
- Bathers must stay within the roped swimming area regardless of age or ability.
5) DIAPERS
- Children in diapers must wear diapers specifically designed for immersion in water (swimming diapers).
- Do not wash out soiled diapers in the bathing water.
6) DOCK TEST (DEEP-WATER / FISHING / BOAT DOCKS)
- Children under 14 must pass the Dock Test to go to deep-water docks or the fishing/boat docks without an adult.
- Children (including guests) must be able to swim to the deep-water dock and back without stopping.
- Tests are administered by Lake Reality beach staff.
7) FLOATING DOCK SAFETY
- No rocking, pushing, or running on floating docks.
- No swimming under or behind floating docks.
- No jumping from floating docks onto any flotation devices.
8) FISHING / BOAT DOCKS (WITHOUT AN ADULT)
- Children must be 8 years old AND pass the Dock Test to be on the fishing/boat docks without an adult.
- No jumping or diving off the boat docks.
9) BADGES / CHECK-IN / GUEST BRACELETS
- Badges required for members age 14+; must be visible.
- Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult from their household.
- On arrival, members must sign in with lifeguard or badge checkers and provide number and names of guests.
- Guests must wear temporary bracelets identifying the hosting member.
- Be prepared to show badges if memberships are being actively
-All lake members must be affiliated and reside at the same residence to qualify as one (1) membership
10) GUEST POLICY
- Do not abuse guest privileges.
- Guests must always be accompanied by a member.
- Each member household may bring 2 guest families free of charge.
- Guests are part of the same immediate family.
- If you want more than the allowed number, contact the membership trustee for Board-approved permission.
11) LIFEGUARD BOAT
- Lifeguard boat is for lifeguard on duty only.
- Anyone else using it will be removed from the premises.
12) LIFEGUARD AUTHORITY
- Lifeguard on duty may order anyone off the premises due to safety concerns.
13) DAMAGES
- Parents of unsupervised minors are responsible for damages to Lake Reality property caused by such minors (members or guests).
14) NO KITCHEN LOITERING
- Children are not permitted to loiter in the kitchen.
15) GRILLS
- No grills permitted on the deck due to fire concerns.
- Use the grill located on the pavilion.
- Clean grill after each use.
16) TRASH / RECYCLING / WILDLIFE SAFETY
- Use recycling bins and trash containers (clearly marked).
- Lifeguards empty garbage/recyclables at closing.
- If garbage is after closing, put it in the dumpster to avoid attracting wildlife.
- If children play near swing sets, remove garbage from the play area.
17) PAVILION RENTALS / PARTIES
- Pavilion may be reserved for a rental fee for parties of 10–25 people, Monday–Thursday.
- No parties Friday–Sunday or on holidays.
- If 10+ people gather, it is considered a party.
- Additional lifeguard staff is required for you and children’s safety.
18) PETS
- Pets are not permitted on the beach at any time.
19) FOOD / ALCOHOL REFRIGERATOR RULE
- Alcoholic beverages and food may not be kept in the refrigerator overnight.
- Any alcohol or food remaining in refrigerators at closing will be disposed of at closing.
20) ATV / ELECTRIC BIKES
- No ATVs / 4-wheelers / dirt bikes allowed on Lake Reality property at any time.
- Electric bikes are not allowed on the beach; they may be parked in the parking lot.
21) NO WATER BALLOONS
- No water balloons allowed at the lake.
22) ENFORCEMENT / MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES
- Membership privileges may be reviewed and possibly withdrawn for repeated unsafe practices or failure to follow rules.
- Lake Reality is volunteer-run; cooperation is required.
- Respectful behavior and commitment to safety are expected at all times.
- Failure to meet standards may result in appropriate action.
